Graduate Student, Psychology
About
I am currently investigating the cognitive processes that underlie the way adults with epilepsy think and behave, and the relationship this has with the medial temporal lobe structures (MTL). Brain areas of interest include specifically the hippocampus and amygdale, and other areas of interest include the remote effects of subclinical hippocampal kindling upon the frontal lobe.
My aims are to distinguish the autistic characteristics from cognitive and behavioural differences resulting from TLE, in a well validated manner. This research aims to provide a greater understanding of what processes underlie differences in perception, autistic traits, repetitive behaviours and specific patterns of memory functioning.
