I currently work full-time on an ESRC funded project examining the impact of S&T advances on the governance of Biological and Chemical weapons. This project is part of the Science and Security Program launched under the RCUK Global Uncertainties initiative.

I am also finishing up my Wellcome funded PhD, which will be submitted this year. Within this work I examine the political processes which have underpinned the emergence of governance regimes directed at preventing the illicit use of cutting-edge biotechnology in the development of weapons.

I hold a MA in Biotechnology Law and Ethics from the University of Sheffield (2009) as well as a BSc in Biology and Politics from Aston University(2008).

Over the previous year I have also worked on a Foreign and Commonwealth Office funded research project examining science and technology review processes in the Biological and Toxin Weapons convention. I also recently completed a Wellcome funded research fellowship at the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology. During my fellowship I examined the governance of surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments within the UK.
